Adopting From Us

Thank you for your interest in adopting a pet from Saving Paws! To begin, view our adoptable pets.

To adopt, you will need to arrange a time to come out to our shelter or foster home(s) to meet the pet(s) you are interested in and fill out an adoption application. You may fill out the application in advance and e-mail it to us or bring it to the shelter with you. We will then process your application, which typically takes 24 to 72 hours as we are 100% volunteer-run. Once you are approved, you may return to pick up your new companion(s). All applications are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Please call 920-830-2392 to set up an appointment to go out to the shelter. We are all volunteer-run, so we don't have regular hours, but we would be happy to set up a time that works for you to come visit. We are located in north Appleton and when you set up an appointment we will give you directions to our shelter.

Please note that some of our adoptable cats and all of our adoptable dogs are cared for in foster homes, and we can help arrange meetings at foster care homes for you if the pet(s) you are interested in adopting is in foster care.

All adoptions from Saving Paws include:

For Cats: standard treatments include deworming, a feline leukemia test, a distemper shot, seasonal topical treatments for fleas, ticks, and mites, and additional treatments as needed. We also may do FIV tests and rabies shots as we can afford it.

Adopters may not four-paw declaw cats and kittens adopted from Saving Paws.

For Dogs: standard treatments include deworming if necessary, distemper, bordatella and rabies.

All pets adopted must be spayed/neutered if not already. If you adopt a pet too young to be neutered or spayed, you may be required to pay a $50 deposit that will be returned to you upon receipt of a signed letter from your veterinarian indicating the date your pet was spayed or neutered.

Please note: we do not adopt pets out of the country. We only adopt out-of-state on a case-by-case basis to pre-approved homes.

Get your pet microchipped! Any pet you adopt from Saving Paws can be microchipped at the Neenah Animal Shelter for only $20! This cost includes the chip, tag, implant and registration through 24 Hour Pet Watch. The best part is there is no need to pay to change any information throughout the life of the animal. If you would like to microchip your pet, simply contact the Animal Welfare League of Neenah at 920-722-9544 or neenahanimalshelter@newbc.rr.com, to make an appointment. The Animal Welfare League of Neenah is located at 951 County Road G, Neenah.
